Don’t be a meat chauvinist

TIL, #meat_chauvinist: A derogatory term for people who think human intelligence is special.

While LLMs are certainly deserving of criticism, its probably worth running each criticism through the golden rule to check it for integrity. Bring your complaints to your family dinner — if you think your complaints about what AI can’t do is evidence of a lack of intelligence … and that these things are also things that your family very likely can’t do either … perhaps you are a meat chauvinist.

If its not a standard for intelligence when your family can’t do it, its not a standard for intelligence when ChatGPT cant do it.
